A riot broke out a few weeks ago at Woods Lake........a riot of colors that is. The surrounding peaks were hidden in clouds but the colorful aspens were in full view.

Wild Autumn Aspen

This little group of aspen seem a bit wilder and less conformant than those in the thickly populated groves nearby. But their autumn colors are as bold as any that reside below the snow covered peaks of the Sneffels Range here along the West Dallas Creek Road.

Chapel On The Rock

Haven't been around much lately. Not sure if anyone is still looking. Hope so. This is St. Catherine of Sienna's Chapel at St. Malo Retreat Center in Allenspark, CO. It is commonly referred to as The Chapel On The Rock. Unfortunately the retreat center suffered severe fire damage last November and is closed indefinitely. The chapel, however, was undamaged and still provides wonderful photo opportunities for the travelers to and from Rocky Mountain National Park along highway 7 near Allenspark.
